Welcome back to Chat with Courtney.

It’s been a little over a year since I last published a blog post.

Not because I ran out of things to say.

Quite the opposite.

Like so many of you, I found myself in a season where life simply kept moving. Motherhood, marriage, work, moving, books, laughter, tears, answered prayers, unanswered questions, and all of the ordinary moments in between filled my days.

I kept thinking I needed to wait until life slowed down before I started writing again.

Then I realized something.

If I wait for life to slow down, I may never write another blog post.

The truth is, life isn’t less busy than it was a year ago.

If anything, it’s fuller.

I’ve also learned something about myself. Some of my best thoughts don’t come while I’m sitting at a keyboard. They come while I’m washing dishes, driving down the road, reading a book, or in the middle of a busy day when I don’t have time to write them down. By the time I finally sit down, the words have often slipped away.

So instead of waiting for the perfect time or the perfect words, I’ve decided to simply start the conversation.

That’s the heart behind Chat with Courtney.

I don’t want this to be a place where I pretend to have all the answers. I want it to be a place where we have real conversations about real life while searching for truth together.

That means one week we may talk about books, another week motherhood, business, faith, moving, or whatever lesson life happens to place in front of me. At first glance, the topics may seem unrelated, but they all have one thing in common: they’re opportunities to discover truth in the middle of everyday life.

So whether you’ve been here from the beginning or you’ve just found this little corner of the internet, I’m grateful you’re here.

I hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and join the conversation.

Welcome back.
